How to turn off Amber Alerts on your Android device

Amber Alerts

When a child goes missing in your area, the likelihood you’ll receive an Amber alert on your smartphone is quite high. These alerts should be seen as useful, as they spread important info among the community and increase the chances of finding a missing person. Nevertheless, they can be a bit disruptive at times, especially if you get one at three in the morning. While we advise you keep these alerts turned on at all times, we’ll show you how you can turn off Amber alerts if you prefer.

The process is extremely simple, but only if you know where to look. The problem is that the setting can be found in a different place depending on your device and carrier, which can cause some confusion. In this post, we’ll take a closer look at how to do it on stock Android devices, as well as on phones made by Samsung, OnePlus, and LG. Let’s dive in.

Unfortunately, there are so many different OEMs that we can’t highlight every manufacturer’s process. The good news is that even if you don’t own a Samsung, LG, OnePlus, or a stock Android device, there’s still a good chance you’ll find this setting in one of the places mentioned above. If not, you can at least get a better idea of where to look.
