The Galaxy Z Flip might have a larger battery than Moto Razr, but will that be enough?
After much confusion, it looks like Galaxy Z Flip is the name of Samsung's next flip phone. The name was before inclined by Ice universe leak and has now been reaffirmed through XDA Developers Max Weinbach. By the way, Weinbach is also behind the latest series of Leaks on the Galaxy S20.
In a series of tweets, Weinbach reveals more information about the alleged Galaxy Z Fold. The prognosis says that the foldable phone will receive a 3,300 mAh battery and will run on the Snapdragon 855 chipset. The flagship chipset 2019 was also tilted in a previous report, back in the day when we thought the phone was called the Galaxy Fold 2.
The Galaxy Flip Z has a 3300 mAh battery. With the Snapdragon 855, it should be pretty good in everything. About the same live battery as the mid-size S10.

At 3,300mAh, the new foldable Galaxy outweighs the recently launched battery capacity Moto Razr clamshell. The Razr comes with a measly 2,510 mAh battery, which Moto says works well with the phone's Snapdragon 710 SoC.
However, the more premium processor of the Galaxy Z Flip could run out of its 3300 mAh battery fairly quickly. It is even smaller than the 3500 mAh battery of 2018 Galaxy S9 Plus, which was not very impressive at the start. In our tests, the S9 Plus's battery gave us only three hours of screen time during our camera tests and six hours with heavy use.
Samsung may have had to compromise on the battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip in order to maintain a slim form factor.
To mitigate battery drain, Samsung may consider deploying the Galaxy FoldAdaptive power saving mode of the new phone. The function regulates battery consumption depending on how you use your device.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip display rumors
In addition to revealing the details of the Galaxy Z Flip's battery, Weinbach also revealed some information about its display. He says the phone will have an ultra-thin glass covered with plastic to prevent scratches.
Samsung was very smart with the Galaxy Z Flip (just got the word it's name.)
They use ultra thin glass and plastic. Samsung will layer plastic over the ultra thin glass for added protection. If it is scratched, it is only the plastic and not the screen.

This is not the first time that we have heard rumors of the next foldable Samsung using ultra-thin glass. Of them previous reports said the same thing. However, this extra layer of plastic on the ultra-thin glass is new information for us.
The ultra-thin glass protection is good news because it is more scratch-resistant than plastic. It would also result in fewer wrinkles compared to the first wave of foldable phone screens.
Weinbach claims that the plastic layer on top will serve as additional protection for the screen. If it is scratched, only the plastic will be damaged, not the screen.
