Apparently someone got their hands on a leaked prototype or maybe even a commercial version of the next Samsung galaxy s20 plus. Over the past few days, we have seen some device related leaks, all from a single source via XDA Developers.

Today, this source has posted a handy 15-second video that shows the Galaxy S20 Plus in its entirety. You can see the short video clip above.

The video itself confirms some things we were already waiting for, such as the cutout of the selfie camera aligned in the center, the rectangular camera module, the existence of an integrated fingerprint sensor, the absence of a headphone jack, etc. It also confirms predictability in black.

However, the cabinet also confirmed a few other aspects of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus that the video doesn't show. We have listed them here:

  • The display resolution is 3,200 x 1,440 pixels. This is due to the higher aspect ratio 20: 9.
  • The fingerprint sensor built into the screen is ultrasonic and not optical.
  • The display will refresh at a frequency of 120 Hz. There will also be a parameter toggle to enable or disable this function.
  • The 120Hz refresh rate is locked at 1080p resolution, so you'll have to choose between 60Hz at 1440p or 120Hz at 1080p.
  • The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus will support 25 W charging and comes with a 25 W charging brick in the box.
  • The model obtained by the cabinet is delivered with 11 GB of RAM (likely to be marketed in the form of 12 GB). There is 128 GB of built-in storage.
  • The nominal capacity of the Galaxy S20 Plus battery is 4500 mAh.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus leaks against Samsung Galaxy S10 PlusXDA Developers

All in all, there are exciting things here as well as disappointments. The 12 GB of RAM associated with 128 GB of internal storage are pleasant, as is the 4500 mAh battery. The refresh rate of the 120 Hz display is also a good touch.

However, a charging speed of 25 W is quite slow compared to other high-end devices on the market, and forcing 1080p with the refresh rate of 120 Hz is pretty silly. The lack of a headphone jack is deeply disappointing, of course, and Samsung sticking to the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is a bit disappointing.

Judging by this information, it looks like the rumor that the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra will be the device of choice for speculative buyers.
