Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite become official (update: launch date in India)
Update, January 13, 2020 (7:01 am ET): Samsung has confirmed the launch date in India of the Galaxy S10 Lite. India will be the first market where Samsung will launch the smartphone. The company will launch the device on January 23 and it will be available for purchase through the Flipkart e-commerce platform.

It is not yet known about the launch of the Galaxy Note 10 Lite in the country.
Source article, January 3, 2020 (9:47 a.m.ET): After month of rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite were both officially announced. Both phones have been designed to provide functionality Galaxy S10 and Note 10 family of phones at a lower price.
For the Galaxy S10 Lite, Samsung is focusing on its photo equipment. It will have three rear sensors: a 48MP wide angle main camera, a second 12MP ultra wide 12MP sensor and a 5MP macro camera. The cameras will also use Samsung's new Super Steady OIS. Combined with the camera's Super Steady mode, the S10 Lite is supposed to take better action images and video clips. The phone will also have a 32MP front camera.
The Galaxy S10 Lite will be released in the colors Prism White, Prism Black and Prism Blue.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite will have, like the other members of the Note series, an integrated S Pen. It will allow owners to take handwritten notes, take a photo, control video content and much more. It will also have three 12MP rear cameras (wide angle, ultra wide angle and telephoto) and a 32MP front camera. The phone will be released in the colors Aura Glow, Aura Black and Aura Red.
The Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite will share many hardware specifications. Both will have a 6.7-inch Infinity-O screen with a resolution of 2400 × 1080. The S10 Lite will use a Super AMOLED Plus screen, while the Note 10 Lite will have a standard Super AMOLED screen. The S10 Lite will use a 7nm 64-bit Octa-core processor, with clock speeds of 2.8 GHz, 2.4 GHz and 1.7 GHz. The Note 10 Lite 10 will have a 10mm processor, with clock speeds of 2.7 GHz and 1.7 GHz. Both will have 128 GB of built-in storage and 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. Both will have the same 4500 mAh battery and both will come with Android 10 out of the box.
Pricing and release dates for the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite have yet to be released. The phones will be unveiled by the company next week at CES 2020 in Las Vegas.
