Tim Cook Was Paid A Whopping $134m In 2019

Apple boss Tim Cook has been ranked second for US executive pay for 2019, although he remains a long way behind first place.

At the top of Bloomberg’s list, not entirely unexpectedly, sits Tesla CEO Elon Musk. He earned $595.3m last year, most of which came from equities.

Apple CEO Tim Cook had to settle for a comparatively miserly $133.7m (around £107m). His annual salary is $3m, incidentally, so most of that income was paid in the form of shares and similar compensations.

As for the executives of other technology companies, Intel CEO Robert Swan earned $99m, while Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella earned $86m and $77m respectively.

Cook has been in the news lately more than is customary; he is scheduled to face the US House Judiciary Antitrust Subcommittee on 27 July, alongside fellow big earner Pichai. Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg, who have a few quid themselves, will also appear.
