The OnePlus Nord is now official, but despite finally breaking cover we still know very little about the device itself. Even so, OnePlus is granting eager fans a few select chances to pre-order before the phone’s expected 22 July launch.
To keep the excitement and the phone’s desirability high ahead of its actual release, OnePlus has pencilled in two more dates on which it will take pre-orders; presumably adhering to the same limited numbers and available to users in the same markets as before.
When can you pre-order the OnePlus Nord?
The first pre-order round came and went on 1 July, with only 100 devices up for grabs across the entirety of the European countries mentioned below. Suffice to say, these pre-orders sold out almost immediately.
In a similar fashion to the first round, OnePlus has a second scheduled for 10am CEST (9am BST) on 8 July, which is again expected to only serve up a limited run of units.
The third round, pencilled in for 10am CEST on 15 July, is a little different; described as an ‘unlimited voucher’ offer – whereas the first two were dubbed ‘limited’. This suggests that unlike the first two pre-order rounds, there won’t the same degree of product scarcity here, making it much more like a conventional pre-order offer, albeit one that closes again on 16 July at 11am CEST.
What are the OnePlus Nord pre-order bonuses?
With this lower-stakes pre-order offer being made available on 15 July, you might wonder what value trying to vie for a place in either of the earlier sessions holds.
Essentially, the earlier you place your Nord pre-order, the more extras OnePlus throws in to sweeten the pot.
Those who were able to nab one of the first 100 slots from the 1 July window can expect “a random lifestyle product, a sticker pack and other mystery gifts” to be sent out on confirmation of payment.
Those who successfully pre-order on 8 July benefit from the same three bonus items, while those who pre-order on 15 July lose out on the “random lifestyle product” but still walk away with the sticker pack and a mystery gift.
We’ve reached out to OnePlus to ascertain what the random lifestyle products and mystery gifts are likely to be and will update this story should they shed any additional light on the subject.
How much does it cost to pre-order the OnePlus Nord?
In the UK, pre-orders cost £20, whilst elsewhere across Europe, they cost €20.
True to its roots, OnePlus isn’t offering up a conventional pre-order path with the OnePlus Nord. Aside from the brief windows of pre-order availability, those successful are actually buying a voucher.
To receive this voucher, buyers need a OnePlus account (important for those who initially pay through the ‘guest checkout’ option). Once payment has been processed, OnePlus seeds both the voucher and invitation code to the buyer’s OnePlus account, allowing them to place an order.
Where can you pre-order the OnePlus Nord?
Despite OnePlus stating that the phone is coming to Europe and India first and foremost, the initial round of pre-orders was only made available to those any of the following 28 European countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
You’ll need to head to the OnePlus Nord pre-order page to place your order when the order windows are open on the aforementioned dates. Good luck!
