How to get Disney Plus on Windows 10- Tech Advisor

Disney+ is one of the most recent services to join the streaming wars, but it already feels well-established.

That’s thanks to its huge library of films and TV shows, with almost a century of iconic content to call upon. With new original content being added all the time, £5.99/US$6.99 per month (or £59.99/US$69.99 a year) represents excellent value for money for most people.

If you’ve already decided to take the plunge, you’ll probably want have access across all your devices.

In this article, we’ll show you all the ways you can get it on any PC or laptop running Windows 10.

How to watch Disney Plus on Windows 10

The easiest way to start watching is by heading to disneyplus.com from your web browser. If you’re viewing this on desktop, just click on the link above and sign-in. As with nearly all streaming services, you can watch on any browser you’d like, although the resolution is thought to be capped at 720p.

Is there a Disney Plus app for Windows 10?

Not officially, although there is a useful workaround that can make it seem like Disney+ has its own dedicated app for Windows 10. This is via something known as a Progressive Web App (or PWA), which allows for a specific website to be ‘installed’ on your device.

Once set up, you’ll have a fully-functioning icon on the desktop, free from the distractions of other tabs and websites. We’re using Edge for the purposes of this tutorial, and Chrome is currently the only other browser where PWAs are supported:

  1. Head to the Disney Plus website and sign in.
  2. Click the icon with three dots in the top right of your screen and choose Apps > Install this site as an app

  1. Give it a name of your choice (simply ‘Disney+’ should work) and confirm
  2. That’s it! You should now see the Disney+ app in the Start Menu, and it can be pinned to the the taskbar or desktop as you normally would

We also have guides on how to get Disney+ on PS4, Xbox One, Sky Q & Now TV, Amazon Fire TV and Fire Tablets, Roku, Smart TVs, Apple TV and Virgin Media.
