Foxconn ‘Starts Making Lenses’ For Apple’s AR Headset

A new report suggests that Apple’s rumoured AR headset project is a step closer to reality. Longtime manufacturing partner Foxconn, known for its work on the iPhone, has now started to manufacture translucent lenses for the product, according to The Information.

At this stage Foxconn is believed to have created only a few thousand lenses as test samples. Mass production will take another year or two.

The headset – which we understand will be called Apple Glass – will be based on a prototype that was approved two months ago, but exactly what it looks like has not been leaked at the time of writing.
