Notch ‘Won’t Be Any Smaller On iPhone 12’

It’s been rumoured for a long time that the so-called notch at the top 9f the screen will be smaller, or even non-existent, on this autumn’s iPhone models. Sadly for notch haters that theory now appears to be off the table: in a Twitter post that’s had well over 3,000 likes at time of writing, EverythingApplePro says the notch will basically be unchanged compared to the iPhone 11.

The leaked CAD images referred to in the post also suggest we won’t get a fourth camera on the back, one of the more consistent of iPhone rumours, and that only the top 6.7in model will be equipped with a LiDAR sensor for AR and VR. “Did Apple pull a fast one on the leak community?” he asks, not unreasonably.

Finally, EverythingApplePro claims there is no support for Smart Connector in this year’s models either. What had been thought to be the new connector is believed instead to be a space for the 5G antenna.
