June had our hopes raised that Apple would soon launch a new iMac – over a year after it last updated its all-in-one Mac. But, rather than please creatives with a brand-new iMac, all the company did was add more complexity to the question of whether we should even buy a new Mac right now with the demise of the Intel Mac on the horizon.
But the fact that June’s WWDC focused firmly on the upcoming operating system updates means that there’s sure to be some exciting hardware updates coming in July. Here in this article we will attempt to forecast what we can expect to see coming out of Apple in July.
According to various sources, there are several Apple product launches in the pipeline. Alongside the iMac – which is certain to arrive soon given that Apple is currently listing 27in iMacs as unavailable before 14 July – updates could be in store for the Apple TV, HomePod, and the AirPods.
Here’s what you can expect:
New 27in iMac
As we mentioned above, the 27in iMac is mysteriously unavailable from the Apple Store right now – a clear indication that the company is about to update it. The only disappointment being that it does appear to only be the 27in model that is soon to be updated, not the 21.5in iMac.
There have been rumours that the 21.5in iMAc will get a redesign later this year – with a new bigger 23in display made possible by thinner bezels. We’ve not heard the same rumours about the 27in model, but it’s feasible that an update could see that model move to a bigger 29in or 30in display. We’d love that!

iMac Pro
Speaking of the iMac, it would be amiss if Apple didn’t also update the iMac Pro – which has not been updated (other than gaining new build-to-order graphics card options) since the model was introduced in 2017.
With the gap closing between the iMac Pro and the 27in iMac – especially if the standard iMac gets another update – it does seem like a do-or-die moment for Apple here. Either update the iMac Pro or discontinue it.

AirPods
Prominent leaker Jon Prosser tweeted back in May that new AirPod models would be coming soon.
That can’t have been all that soon, given that almost two months later Apple still hasn’t released them, but it’s certainly possible that we could see AirPods X (thought to be new sports headphones), a cheaper version of the AirPods Pro (AirPods Lite), or the AirPods Studio (over ear headphones) soon.
Heads up: There’s still an iMac and AirPods ready to ship. (Not sure which AirPods yet, only know codename)
Theoretically, since they’re ready, they could drop at any time.
I’ll let you know if/when I hear a date.
Let’s see if Apple can keep it a secret from me ??

Apple TV
Jon Prosser also thinks Apple’s preparing to launch a new Apple TV. He also tweeted in May that a new Apple TV is ready to ship:
New Apple TV 4K with A12X – 64GB/128GB ready to ship. ?
Codename: Neptune T1125
Another one of those things that could drop any time. Apple got no chill right now ??

HomePod
We’ve seen a few reports suggesting that the HomePod is low stock at Apple, and we’ve also seen some excellent HomePod discounts and deals. This could suggest that a new HomePod will launch soon. We discuss what Apple needs to do to improve the HomePod here, so hopefully Apple has taken note.

September event
Of course Apple may go quiet over the summer while it gears up to its September event at which we expect to see new iPhones, potentially a new iPad Air, and, if they don’t come sooner, all those products mentioned above.
