New AirPods ‘Postponed Until 2021’

It’s widely believed that Apple plans to release new AirPods this autumn – but those plans may now need to be delayed until 2021, according to the Nikkei Asian Review. According to the same source, Apple is now starting to make AirPods in Vietnam as a way to diversify its production.

This information fits with previous reports from Ming-Chi Kuo, who claims that Apple has postponed production for the third-generation AirPods to the first half of 2021. According to the same report, the second-gen AirPods Pro should begin in the last quarter of 2021 or the first quarter of 2022.

This will come as a blow to many Apple fans. There had been rumours that the new AirPod could appear as soon as May.
