Whether you lost your device, were victim to a cyber attack, or simply want to make sure your accounts are safe from stranger eyes, changing your passwords is a good idea. Today we’ll help you change your Facebook password and keep all that personal information private.

There are two ways to change Facebook passwords. One is a traditional password change and the second is a password reset. The main difference is that password resets are done when you don’t remember your current Facebook password. These don’t require entering your current password, but you must go through secondary steps to verify your identity. Let’s get started.

Editor’s note: Facebook is currently going through a user interface overhaul. Some of you might still be using the classic version of Facebook, while others have already upgraded to the new Facebook experience. Steps to perform certain actions are slightly different depending on which version of Facebook you are using, so we will give you instructions for both processes.
