Apple launched its Powerbeats 4 headphones a month ago, but the company’s audio department isn’t finished yet. Before long – based on the latest reports – we expect to see a new version of the upmarket Powerbeats Pro headphones.
Powerbeats Pro are also aimed at those who want to listen to music while exercising, but as the name suggests they are costlier and better-specced than the standard Powerbeats. The original Powerbeats Pro were launched in May 2019, so they’re coming up to the time when they’d be expected to get an upgrade.
According to AppleInsider, the new models of Powerbeats Pro were approved by the US FTC on 15 April, and the wireless headphones have now also been approved by the Malaysian equivalent organisation, SIRIM.
Unfortunately details are scarce at this point. All we know at the moment is that the new devices are a pair of Bluetooth wireless headphones from Apple, and have the model numbers A2453 and A2454.
Now that FTC approval has been secured, it’s likely that the new Powerbeats Pro will be launched shortly. But the ongoing pandemic means that delays cannot be ruled out.
