How to watch Disney Plus on Virgin Media

Disney Plus is the new kid on the block when it comes to streaming services, but its huge launch lineup has understandably got many people excited.

It’s the perfect place for a nostalgia hit, with a number of classics from Disney’s illustrious history, while new content is headlined by live action Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian. Plenty more is expected as the service becomes more established.

If you haven’t signed up for Disney+ yet, we’d recommend sorting that out on a mobile device or PC beforehand. After a 7-day free trial, it’s available for £5.99/$6.99 per month or £59.99/$69.99 for a whole year.

You’ll probably want it to slot into your existing home entertainment system, and Virgin Media is no different.

Can I get Disney Plus on Virgin Media?

Technically you can, but not in the way you might hope. Unlike with Sky Q, Disney Plus isn’t available directly through the Virgin Media user interface. We tried the usual method of heading to ‘Apps & Games’ and then ‘All Apps’, but Disney+ was nowhere to be found.

We wouldn’t rule out Virgin Media adding the app in the coming months, so it’s worth checking the how-to page regularly for details.

In the meantime, there are plenty of other ways to watch. Many of the latest smart TVs have the Disney Plus app available, while there are a number of other ways to start watching. If you use the same TV to play PS4 or Xbox One, the apps are easily downloadable there. Should you not be into gaming, an Amazon Fire TV Stick is a relatively inexpensive alternative, which can easily move between your screens.

So you’ve sorted out how to watch Disney+, but now what? Here’s our selection of the best TV shows and best movies currently available.
