How to Cancel or Pause Sky Sports Subscription

Sky Sports is one of the most popular sets of channels in the TV world but there are various reasons why you might want to cancel your subscription. You can now also pause it due to the Coronavirus.

There’s a pretty simple set of steps you can follow if you want to cancel Sky Sports (or downgrade other parts of your Sky package).

  1. Go to the TV section in My Account and sign in with your Sky iD
  2. Scroll down to ‘Your package’ and click on the pack you’d like to remove.
  3. Scroll down and click the ‘Remove this pack’

Note that depending on your contract, you might be subject to an early cancellation fee.

Pause Sky Sports due to coronavirus

Due to the coronavirus outbreak and pretty much all sporting events being postponed or cancelled, Sky has announced that customers can optionally pause Sky Sports subscriptions.

There is content being broadcast across the 11 channels but, of course, no major live events such as the Premier League football and F1

Since this is a new feature due to the pandemic, there’s no way to pause your Sky Sports package online. Sky is working on one, but for now you’ll have to call Sky on 0800 151 2747.

Sky said: “we have reduced resource in our call centre and we apologise if you are unable to get through to us on the phone.” adding “you will not be charged a fee to do so or be held to any notice period.”
