Update, January 14, 2020 (2:56 a.m.ET): Samsung has released the sixth One UI 2.0 beta update for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. according to SamMobile, the latest update is being rolled out in India and is expected to be available soon in other regions.

The update comes with version number G96 * XXU7ZTA9 and brings a handful of bug fixes. It also updates the camera app on phones to a newer version. You can view the entire change log in the image below.

Since the latest update fixes very few bugs, the Galaxy S9 series should soon get the stable update One 10 2.0 based on Android 10. Samsung's update schedule suggests that the devices will receive the stable version in January 2020. It seems that Samsung is approaching this goal.

Beta users can download the new update over the air from the Software Update menu in Settings.

Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus launched with Android Oreo, before being updated to Android pie earlier in 2019. Like most flagship Android products, these are expected to receive two major updates in their lifetime.

On November 20, 2.0 beta user interface officially started deployment to Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus devices in Korea. Before the S9 series, the beta version of Android 10 was available on Galaxy S10 and Note 10 devices.

A 2.0 user interface brings the Galaxy S9 series to Android 10, with a number of improvements to the skin of Samsung's Android operating system. New additions include extended dark mode, less intrusive notifications, and digital well-being.

After Korea, Samsung has started to deploy One UI 2.0 beta on Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus in its second market – India (h / t SamMobile). Users can sign up for the beta version of Android 10 through the Samsung Members app.

Since then, new features have been spotted on the phone. The camera has now inherited Night Mode from the Galaxy Note 10 for the front camera and the rear telephoto camera, which have also apparently been deployed on the Galaxy Note 9. Spotted by SamMobile, this feature now allows users of the Galaxy S9 on the beta version of Android 10 to take brighter pictures in low light conditions.

The beta update is expected to launch soon in the U.S. market. A roadmap released by Samsung Israel also indicates an April release for the stable Galaxy S9 Android 10 update. While the update schedule may vary by country, it could be a good indicator of when to wait for Android 10 on the S9 and S9 Plus.

On December 10, Samsung began launching its second beta version of One UI 2.0 on the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus in India, alongside the December security patch. according to Help Tizen, this update improves stability, eliminates bugs, and gives the update a little more spindle and polishing.

Some major fixes include GPS data leak, S Health measurement errors, memory leaks, slow access point speeds, a security folder bug, and improvements in Bluetooth functionality. The Internet app Samsung and Samsung Dex have also received some usability improvements, and both devices should benefit from better heat management.

On December 27, 2019, Samsung launched its fourth beta version of One UI 2.0 on the Samsung galaxy s9 and S9 Plus. Help Tizen reported that the update simply removed some bugs and other issues.

The December update was followed by another One UI 2.0 beta update on January 8. The update fixed an issue that was blocking Galaxy S9 users from the secure folder on their phones. It also corrected unwanted noise while optimizing sound quality with 3.5mm headphones and USB-C.

In addition, the update came with a new version of Digital Wellbeing and improvements in camera performance. He also added Dex functionality for PC. Finally, it included optimizations for motion recognition in gesture navigation state.
