In an exclusive short interview with Nokiapoweruser team, HMD CPO Juho Sarvikas talked about some topics of much interest to our readers. The interview setup was amusingly the Metro station in Gurugram where HMD even took the media for a trip onboard a Nokia 2 themed train.
So, it was quite challenging to record this interview but we live-streamed it using our Nokia 8 on our YouTube channel. You can watch the live-streamed videos of Nokia 2 themed train and our interview with Juho on the Metro station below.
During the interview, Juho interestingly mentioned “Borderless display” and materials which are transparent and resilient and yet offer good radio performance as absolute areas of interest for HMD R&D team. A big hint at the upcoming flagship Nokia 9 design, we guess.
Immersive storytelling ability, advanced imaging technology in collaboration with Carl-Zeiss and pure material-led design are the key focus areas while creating any Nokia smartphone starting from Nokia 2 to Nokia 8.
Answering the question about the focus on camera performance Juho talked about sharing your life in most immersive fashion and in highest possible fidelity as areas of focus.
When we asked him about a possible Nokia superphone, Juho talked about strength to cater to every customer segment and also that HMD has no plans to slow down after launching 12 phones in last 11 months. HMD wants to be one of the major players in the smartphone market.
Juho admitted that Wireless Charging is a powerful feature on which HMD is investigating with help of evolving material technologies. He again talked about material that can offer radio performance along with wireless charging support.
