You can tell a company made it big when more and more concepts of its products start getting made. Case in point, the Xiaomi Mi 3 just popped up, after a wave of Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 renders and even some Mi 7 ones flooded the web. We’re dealing here with a phone that should be made for media consumption and also a sort of Galaxy Note rival.

The Mi Note 3 is definitely a phablet killer, since it has a 5.7 inch screen and it also brings a wraparound dual edge design. There’s a dual back camera here and I’m guessing it takes some inspiration from the Mi MIX series. The handset has an iris scanner, a front camera capable of 4K video capture and uses a dual bottom firing speaker.

This time Xiaomi is supposed to also make it splash resistant and it combines glass and metal together. There’s 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. To me there’s an interesting effect attained here. Either it’s an optical illusion, or it actually feels that the upper part of the device is curved on the edges and the lower one is rectangular and… regular.

Here’s some food for thought for device makers: make your device only partially curved at the top, flatter at the bottom. What do you say?
